About Rohloff Group - KFC

The South African master franchise of the KFC brand, the Rohloff Group is responsible for hundreds of KFC restaurants in the Western Cape, Gauteng and Free State, with its headquarters and support centre based in Somerset West.

Alongside its operational management work, the Rohloff Group has focused not only on creating pleasant and inclusive working environments, but also on supporting the community by implementing solidarity food programmes.

The problem

The Challenges

The complexity of the operation
  • A large number of restaurants spread over a vast territory.

  • Dozens of different suppliers with different processes.

  • Demanding management targets (sales, deadlines, etc.).

  • Extensive and strict regulations.

The logistical dimension, incompatible with the previous system
  • More than 27,000 assets.

  • More than 2,000 purchases per month.

What they had to say

"Not only is the system easy to navigate, but it also demonstrates the company's expertise in creating user-friendly solutions. Infraspeak's commitment to collaboration has been excellent, as they actively sought our opinion and ensured that our needs were observed at every stage."

Louise Erasmus

Procurement Lead

The solution

A comprehensive and powerful platform.

Unlike Infraspeak, the system the Rohloff Group was using could no longer handle all the assets of the KFC operation, nor did it have advanced capabilities for managing work orders, automating tasks, streamlining the management of suppliers, budgets and stock, integrating with other software or analysing data and generating reports.

Shortly after starting to use the platform, the Rohloff Group felt the KFC chain's maintenance operations gain efficiency and transparency, particularly with the Infraspeak Network™ — a collaborative, shared workspace that brings managers, suppliers and partners together.

In the first year of use, 18,000 requests for quotes and work orders from more than 60 suppliers were successfully managed. The Rohloff Group was also a pioneer in adopting Approval Flow, an Infraspeak feature that allows for more detailed control of budget approval processes.

Infraspeak also supported the Rohloff Group in developing a customised integration with the Bundu Power App to monitor generators — its most critical asset category, since power grids in South Africa are not always reliable.

Now, access to the history of work events is unlimited, the communication of procurement/purchase flows is in the same system as space and compliance audits — which makes work easier and favours compliance — and preventive maintenance is a standard practice.

In the near future, the Rohloff Group intends to integrate other utilities suppliers into the Infraspeak platform, as well as IoT sensors for temperature monitoring in cold rooms, smoke extractors and ventilation units.
