Schedule a demoFounded in 2009, UNICA Group is a conglomerate of Spanish agricultural cooperatives that has been the country’s largest exporter of fruits and vegetables for over 10 years. Currently, 16 cooperatives are part of UNICA, benefiting from the combined efforts to continuously improve customer service, and fully satisfy the end consumer.
The company has stood out for its constant investment in product innovation and communication, along with a commitment to the development of new technologies that facilitate the work of thousands of farmers, whether in production or in obtaining and sharing relevant indicators about their activities.
The lack of centralised information made efficient resource management difficult.
The absence of a solution that allowed effective maintenance planning led to too many reactive interventions, causing unnecessary downtime and costs.
Without accurate and up-to-date data on stock, for instance, it was difficult to predict expenses and make informed decisions — something even more critical at a time when production costs were rising.
"As part of the UNICA Group team for several years, I have witnessed firsthand the digital transformation driven by Infraspeak. Initially, we encountered some resistance to change. However, as the implementation progressed, we all began to see the tangible benefits the platform offered."
Excitement and anticipation were the primary feelings among UNICA's employees during the implementation process of Infraspeak. All changes cause some discomfort, and this was no exception. However, the platform's advantages quickly began to be understood and appreciated by users: an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, the ability to use the platform on mobile devices, and information available and visible to everyone in one place.
In a short time, all assets were registered, amounting to more than 3,000 pieces of equipment, and the staff roster was digitised, making everything just a click away. To ensure the adaptation was successful, UNICA Group received ongoing support from an Infraspeak Customer Success Manager. This allowed for the quick resolution of initial minor setbacks and the customisation of the platform according to the specific needs of each cooperative.
This collaborative work between UNICA and Infraspeak soon began to bear fruit: improved communication between production and maintenance departments led to a 50% reduction in the time to initiate a work order, a 75% reduction in the average time to resolve breakdowns, and a 95% completion rate for scheduled work orders.
Consequently, SLA compliance saw significant improvement, and concrete numbers are now available to aid decision-making. Data analysis is one of the capabilities of Infraspeak that UNICA aims to explore even further in the future, with the integration of tools like Power BI, alongside the inclusion of more cooperatives in the system.
